Seventy-five members of the majority are calling for a "massive" flu shot, a "citizen act" to avoid seeing this disease add to the Covid-19 pandemic in an "epidemic cohabitation".

A column by Julien Borowczyk (LREM, Loire), himself a doctor, co-signed by 74 other members of the majority, published in the Journal du Dimanche, underlines that "the approach of winter, the risk is great to see the Covid-19 collide with the flu, itself responsible for around 10,000 deaths each year ".

"This epidemic cohabitation could prove deleterious by causing delays in diagnoses, by causing complications in the most fragile among us and by causing a massive influx of patients in hospitals", add the signatories, who assure that they will all get the flu shot.

"Getting vaccinated against the flu will become from this autumn a public health issue and above all a citizen act", continue these deputies.

The forum also asks that the flu vaccine, reimbursed for people at risk and those over 65, is this year covered for all by mutuals.

"We are all impatiently awaiting the vaccine against the coronavirus. Let us already take advantage of the existing vaccines because they are our best allies in this fight against viruses", concludes the text of these deputies, signed in particular by the former -minister of the ecological transition and former president of the National Assembly François de Rugy, the professor of medicine Jean-Louis Touraine or the deputy of Yvelines Aurore Bergé.
