France records 10,569 new cases of COVID-19

The French health authorities recorded 10,569 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, down from a record number of 13,498 the previous day.

The Ministry of Health said that the number of deaths increased 12 in the past 24 hours to 31,585. The total number of confirmed cases is now 453,763.

The latest death toll indicates a significant increase of 311 from the number published on Saturday, which is 31,274, a difference that may stem from late data for earlier deaths.

In addition to the resurgence of the Corona virus since the end of the general isolation measures in May, epidemiologists say that the largest numbers of cases are due to a six-fold jump in tests since the start of examination without pay or medical tickets.
