America sets a record by conducting more than a million "Corona" tests in one day

The United States conducted more than a million tests to diagnose the new Coronavirus, setting a record in the number of tests conducted within one day, but various experts said that the country needs between six million and ten million tests per day in order to control the outbreak of the virus.

According to data from the Voluntary COVID-19 Monitoring Project, the United States conducted 61,411 tests on Saturday.

The record comes after the number of tests decreased for several weeks.

The United States tested an average of 650,000 tests per day during the week that ended September 13, reversing the peak in late July and exceeding 800,000 tests per day.

Since the start of the pandemic, a lack of testing has hampered efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
