Washington bans downloading TikTok and WeChat apps in the US

The American administration is carrying out the threat raised last August by Donald Trump against two Chinese applications: the new versions of WeChat and TikTok will no longer be able to be downloaded on American soil from Sunday evening.

," said the Commerce Department in the statement, which announced the implementation of the restriction measures.
From midnight Sunday evening, financial transactions in the United States can no longer be carried out via the WeChat application.
Payments made from abroad will still be allowed for US companies.
TikTok
can be used without restriction until November 12, but downloading the application and its updates will be impossible from Sunday evening.
The online video application has been suspended to give a chance to the ongoing negotiations on the takeover of the company's activities in the United States by an American group.
TikTok has 100 million users nationwide.
