- It is a sign that the spread of infection is going in the right direction, says infection control doctor Hans Boman to the region's website.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in the county in early March, about 430 people have been cared for for covid-19 at one of the county's hospitals.

The number of patients who have been in need of intensive care has been down to zero for some time and now covid patients are completely missing in the hospitals.

- Thanks to our joint work to keep the spread of infection down, we now have a greater opportunity to resume the care we had to postpone during the pandemic, says Lena Carlsson, hospital director.

The spread of infection is not over

But today's gratifying listing can change quickly and infection control doctor Hans Boman urges everyone to continue to follow the recommendations.

- This is a sign that the spread of infection is going in the right direction in Västernorrland, but it is important to remember that it is not over.

We have seen in other places that the spread of infection can pick up speed again and it is therefore important that we continue to follow the recommendations, he says.
