Iran agrees to IAEA personnel entering designated locations for verification

  Our newspaper, Brussels, September 15 (Reporter Ren Yan) News from Vienna: International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi stated on the 14th that Iran has agreed to IAEA personnel entering Iran’s two locations believed to be storing nuclear materials or Location of nuclear activities.

  On the same day, the IAEA Board of Governors meeting was held in Vienna, Austria.

Grossi introduced at the meeting that during his visit to Iran in August, the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran reached agreements on many issues.

A joint statement issued by the two parties stated that Iran voluntarily provided the International Atomic Energy Agency with access to two designated locations and facilitated verification activities.

  According to Grossi, IAEA personnel have already entered one of the verification sites and collected environmental samples for analysis. They will enter the second site later this month.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will continue to verify whether Iran’s nuclear materials declared under the NPT safeguards agreement are diverted for other purposes, and continue to evaluate related undeclared nuclear materials and activities.
