The Saudi capital, Riyadh, has hosted talks between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council, on the other hand, clashes between the Houthis and government forces in the Ma'rib governorate led to deaths on both sides.

On Monday evening, the Yemeni Prime Minister-designate, Maeen Abd al-Malik, held a meeting in Riyadh with the head and members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council delegation.

The Yemeni News Agency said that a set of treatments had been agreed upon, as described, and that consultations to form a government of political competencies would continue.

She added, "It was agreed to continue the consultations to form a government of political competencies, remove the military forces from Aden, and separate and transfer all forces to their positions on the battle fronts."

The meeting came days after the transitional suspended attendance consultations to implement the Riyadh Agreement.

Earlier, the commander of the Aden Governorate security battalion loyal to the transitional government accused Saudi Arabia of obstructing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in his country.

"Saudi Arabia's prevention of the return of southern leaders to Aden obstructs the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement signed in November 2019," he said.

However, the Transitional Council announced later in a statement that the meeting had reached consensuses on intensifying efforts to accelerate the formation of the "Riyadh Agreement Government".

On the other hand, local sources in the Yemeni governorate of Ma'rib said that a number of Houthi gunmen were killed or wounded and ten of them were captured, while 3 members of the Yemeni National Army were killed, in clashes between the two sides on the "Mahli and Qaniya" front, south of Ma'rib.

The sources added that the army and resistance forces had recovered - with the support of the Saudi-Emirati coalition aircraft - several military sites that were under the control of the Houthis.
