The Croatian Mate Pavic and the Brazilian Bruno Soares won the US Open in doubles on Thursday, beating the Dutch-Croatian pair of Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic 7-5, 6-3 in the final.

Pavic and Soares thus won their first Grand Slam title together.

Pavic had already won the Australian Open in 2018, associated with the Austrian Oliver Marach, and Soares had already won the Australian Open and the US Open in 2016, associated with the Briton Jamie Murray.
