This summer, the Social Democrats and the Moderates were close to agreeing on a volume target for asylum immigration.

The Green Party then threatened to leave the government.

- Of course we are, if it is the case that our government does something that is in line with something we can not stand behind, it is against all principles for the coalition government, said the Green Party's spokesperson Isabella Lövin in an interview with SVT's Agenda.

But in Tuesday's Aktuellt, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven says that he has never heard it said.

Stefan Löfven, what did you think when the Green Party threatened to leave the government?

- I did not hear such a direct threat, but we know that we have different views, says Stefan Löfven.

Did you not notice, did they not tell you?

- We have different views on this issue.

"Nobody told me"

But answer that, it's still interesting for voters to know?

- Nobody has told me that we are prepared, that "we intend to leave the government", no one has told me, no, says Stefan Löfven and continues:

- I know that this is an important issue for the Green Party and it is important for us as well.

It is very complex.

We also have an agreement on humanitarian protection.

As well as providing opportunities for family reunification, we have agreed on that and we have worked for that in the parliamentary committee, says Stefan Löfven.

How do you see the Deputy Prime Minister saying this then, is not what she is saying?

- I have not said that it is not true.

She says they have threatened to leave the government and you say you have not heard anything?

- Nobody has told me, now we are ready, now we intend to leave the government but we know, it is no secret, that this is a difficult issue.

We have different views on an issue like this and then it is the case that we live up to what we agree on, says Stefan Löfven.
