The

State Attorney General's Office

has censured the alleged

machismo

of some traffic signs for placing women in "a situation of dependency and subordination."

This is one of the considerations included in the Annual Report of the Public Ministry for the year 2019, in the section that analyzes the gender perspective and road safety.

One of the censored examples is, for example, the sign where the woman appears following a senderista man, or also

that of a boy who leads a girl

behind him to school by the hand.

The Office of the Prosecutor makes a series of contributions, "of course not unprecedented", on mobility from a gender

perspective

, because, "even when progress has been made", it insists that "signs contrary to the principles of equality still survive" .

In particular, it denounces that there are traffic signs that represent a man as a pedestrian or as a driver;

and others related to the care of people or the domestic sphere indicate that it is a woman who is represented.

Also those in which "a woman appears in a situation of

dependence and subordination" such

as that of a woman who follows a senderista man or even that of a boy who leads the girl by the hand, who goes behind , both to school.
