Over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea, Russian controls spotted an air target approaching the border on 7 September.

"To identify the air target and prevent violation of the state border of Russia, a MiG-31 fighter from the air defense forces of the Northern Fleet was taken into the air," TASS said.

Then the plane of the Norwegian Air Force changed course, no violation of the Russian border was allowed.

On September 5, the MiG-31 also climbed to intercept a Norwegian Air Force aircraft over the Barents Sea.
