The decision immediately angered Democratic parliamentarians. While they will continue to receive written reports, they will no longer be able to ask questions directly to the rapporteurs who have appeared before them so far.
Nancy Pelosi speaks of serious breach of transparency around presidential election security and possible foreign interference. On CNN this Sunday morning, Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, accused the Trump administration of wanting to hide the truth from the American people: " When you can hide behind documents, or not forward documents and not have to answer questions about it, you can hide the truth. And in this case, to hide the truth is to hide that the Russians are still intervening to help the president in his re-election. "
The Intelligence Director justifies his decision by " a need to protect sources and sensitive information from possible leaks ." This is not the first time the Trump administration has accused Democrats of leaking information into the press.
In a new tweet this weekend, the US president repeated these accusations again, without providing any evidence.
