Today, Friday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that its air force had intercepted 6 Greek F-16 warplanes, and removed them from the Turkish Naftex notification area in the eastern Mediterranean.

The ministry said, in a statement, that the radar systems of the Turkish Air Force revealed, on Thursday, that 6 F-16 warplanes had taken off from Crete and headed to the Romanian Cyprus Administration.

It confirmed that Turkish F-16 fighters intercepted the planes southwest of the island of Cyprus, after they approached an area in which Ankara had previously announced the NAFTEX notification.

And she stressed that the Turkish Navy and Air Force continue to work with unlimited determination to protect our rights and interests in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Ministry of Defense also attached a video clip to intercept its Greek aircraft fighters and remove them from the region.

On August 16, Turkey issued a notification to the sailors Naftex, southwest of the coast of Cyprus, stating that its ships would continue drilling for oil and gas.
