“Today we have calculated how much the restoration will cost. The total budget is in the range of 300-350 million rubles. We were lucky that the fire did not affect something significant on the ship and there is no reason to believe that this particular event will somehow affect the completion of the repair of the Admiral Kuznetsov, - told TASS USC General Director Alexei Rakhmanov.
Intensive work is underway on the ship, its docking should take place in the summer of 2021, he added.
The transfer of the ship to the Russian Navy is scheduled for 2022.
A fire on the Admiral Kuznetsov occurred on December 12, 2019 during welding in the area of the first energy compartment. It was the result of a spark falling into the hold room with fuel oil. As a result of the incident, two people died, more than ten were injured.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.
