The Russian ambassador to Mali is one of the first foreign diplomats to be officially received by the junta. When he left, Igor Gromyko said only one sentence to the press: “  We discussed security.  "

At a time when one of the country's problem is insecurity in the north and center, some Malians do not hide their desire to strengthen military cooperation with Moscow. Some recalled this Saturday, during the rally organized by the opposition in Bamako: "  We want to cooperate with Russia  ", "  We want Russia !"  ","  Poutine, Poutine!  ","  Since the day IBK signed a military agreement with France, Mali has been screwed.  "

Last year, Mali and Russia concluded a military cooperation agreement and here we recognize in official circles that the strengthening of this cooperation between the two armies is on the agenda.
