Thus, Alexander Lukashenko was re-elected for the sixth presidential term in a row.

Presidential candidate Andrei Dmitriev said that the CEC also rejected all complaints about non-recognition of the election results, as well as a proposal to postpone the decision. In addition, Dmitriev announced his intention to appeal the voting results.

"We do not agree with the decision of the CEC, we will appeal it to the Supreme Court," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Dmitriev said that he would seek new elections, and also called on citizens of the country who did not agree with the decision of the Central Election Commission to send him their appeals, in which they would allow him to seek new elections in the republic on their own behalf.

Sergei Cherecheni also refused to recognize the results of the voting, saying that the country did not have a "normal electoral procedure."

“We see no reason to recognize the results of the elections to be held in Belarus on August 9. All over the country, there are evidences of multiple violations and the impossibility to get acquainted with the real results of the voting, ”the politician said.

A similar opinion was expressed at the headquarters of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. Anna Krasulina, a spokeswoman for the politician, said that the CEC's final data "have nothing to do with reality."

“What can be recognized there, tell me, please? It just has nothing to do with reality, it is obvious to everyone. Therefore, I don’t know why they (the Belarusian authorities. - RT ) got stuck, why their record is not able to change, ”she said.

Earlier, a new appeal by Tikhanovskaya to citizens appeared on the network, in which she called for an end to violence in the streets of the republic, and asked the mayors of cities to organize peaceful mass gatherings for dialogue with the population. The politician added that her supporters managed to "do the impossible" in a few months, saying: "No - to the old government."

Protests in Belarus

On August 9, after the announcement of the preliminary results of the presidential elections, mass protests began in the country, which escalated into clashes between demonstrators and the police. To disperse the protesters, the security forces used flash bangs, tear gas, batons and water cannons. The demonstrators, dissatisfied with the organization and the results of the voting, used paving stones, stones, fires, “Molotov cocktails”.

“Everyone should be released! Right? Right! We do not demand any economic benefits, not an additional 100 rubles for cards, but we demand one thing - that Mr. Lukashenka, at best, get on his plane and leave the country, "RIA Novosti said.

Also, due to an unauthorized meeting of employees, the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) suspended its work.

“In connection with an unauthorized meeting of workers, the activities of individual workshops of the enterprise have been suspended. It is not yet possible to assess which ones, ”the MTZ representative said, noting that the demands of the protesters are still unknown.
