A “spectacular breakthrough”, commented Donald Trump. Israel and the United Arab Emirates have signed under the aegis of the United States a "historic peace agreement", tweeted Thursday the American president, allowing these two countries to normalize their relations.

The head of the American diplomacy, Mike Pompeo, also spoke of a "historic day" and a "decisive step towards peace in the Middle East". "This is a remarkable achievement for two of the most advanced and technologically advanced states in the world," he added in a statement.

"The United States hopes that this bold step will be the first in a series of agreements ending 72 years of hostilities in the region", continued the American Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Blessed are the peacemakers. Mabrouk and Mazel Tov ”, concluded Mike Pompeo, using the traditional formula used to present his congratulations in Arabic and Hebrew.
