Business, cultural, economic partners, Ireland and the United Kingdom are interdependent. In office for 6 weeks and therefore absent from Brexit negotiations so far, it is the new Prime Minister Micheal Martin, who will lead the Irish boat at the end of the transition period, in January.

Officially, he is not worried about the neighborly relationship: “  Our ties are so important, ” he said. Our relationship is at the heart of our peace process, our economic links, our migratory links, our historical proximity… It is essential that what we have built within the European Union not be lost. The Prime Minister and I have decided to immediately get to work to create new structures, to protect the Ireland-Great Britain relationship, after Brexit.  "

What kind of structures? This could depend in part on the outcome of trade negotiations between London and Brussels, which has virtually stalled for 6 months.
