Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the academic year in the capital will begin on September 1, but without rulers and other public events.

“I think that there will be no mass events in schools, including rulers, but the educational process will begin on September 1,” he said.

Speaking about masks, Sobyanin noted that there will be no requirements for pupils to wear them in classrooms, and there is no ban on the use of these protective equipment.

“Students should study in one class and move to another class only as needed, if there are any special classes there, a chemistry or physics room. And so the classes should take place in one place so that there is less crossing of children, ”the mayor explained.

Schools are expected to operate with new requirements, which include enhanced disinfection, inlet temperature measurement and monitoring of teachers and students. At the same time, restrictions will apply in canteens.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Education Sergei Kravtsov noted that each region will independently decide on the format of the school lines on September 1, based on the epidemiological situation.

"Wherever they decide not to hold" live "lines, other formats will be chosen, but we will definitely preserve the general atmosphere of the holiday," the TASS minister is quoted as saying.

Schools in an epidemic

Earlier, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov said that classes in Russian schools on September 1 will begin in full-time format. The head of the department said this during a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government.

“We are getting ready on this very day to start a full-fledged work - in normal full-time mode. Of course, in compliance with all the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, ”he said.

Recall that in the last quarter of the last academic year, 97% of Russian schools switched to distance learning amid the coronavirus epidemic.

Earlier, Kravtsov told details about the precautionary measures that Russian schools expect in the new academic year. According to the minister, for the first two weeks of the upcoming academic year, there will be a medical worker in every school in Russia. Along with this, schools will be disinfected

“There will be traditional classes. Disinfection of schools will be carried out, certain protective equipment will be used, thermometry at the entrance to schools. We have agreed with the Ministry of Health that a medical worker will be present at each school for two weeks, from September 1 to September 14, ”RIA Novosti quotes the minister.

Kravtsov stressed that there will be changes in conditions, but in general it will not affect the traditional educational process.

In addition, All-Russian testing works will be held in schools in September. As follows from the message of Rosobrnadzor, the task of this event is "to test the knowledge of students and their additional training on topics for which an insufficient level of development has been identified."

City Day in Moscow

The Mayor of Moscow called rumors about the resumption of restrictions in the capital from September 15.

“Regarding September 15, these rumors are endless, they are simply striking in their persistence, although I have already said many times that there are no plans in this regard,” Sobyanin said on the air of the Russia 24 channel.

At the same time, the mayor of the capital said that mass events on City Day, which is celebrated on the first weekend of September, will be limited, local events are expected. He said that the mayor's office had a desire to hold the holiday on a full-scale basis, by analogy with previous years, but the situation does not favor this.

“Accordingly, the City Day itself will be localized, if I may say so, that is, we will not have closed Tverskaya Street, there will be no such mass concerts, but there will be local events in parks, squares, throughout the city, in cultural institutions of the city, all this will be done this way in light mode, ”Sobyanin explained. The Mayor pointed out that the common theme of the holiday will be "Museums of Moscow".
