Shortly after ten on Tuesday evening, a traffic accident occurred just east of Åseda in Uppvidinge municipality on highway 23/37.
A car must have driven into a stationary truck.
A 35-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. The driver of the car was slightly injured in connection with the accident. The driver must have been a man in his 50s.
According to the police, the man must have been affected during the accident, and he is now suspected of aggravated drunk driving, drug offenses and aggravated illegal driving.
