Eight days after the enormous explosion which devastated a large part of the Lebanese capital, and left at least 171 dead and more than 6,000 injured, somewhat special rescue teams are busy around the rubble. Composed of members of the Animals Lebanon association, they comb the city to help pets injured by the double explosion.

Armed with transport baskets, the volunteers collect the animals, treat them and then search for their owners. “Our goal is to help people who lost their animals during the explosion. We find them and we reunite them with their owner, ”explains Maggie Shaarawi, vice-president of the association. His fight can be seen in the video of our partner Brut:
