French cinemas are back above the one million weekly spectator mark, with the comedy "Les Blagues de Toto" making its debut at the top of the box office, according to CBO box office figures released Wednesday.

Cinemas have struggled since their reopening on June 22, with three times fewer spectators than the average before the health crisis.

Even if it progresses during this week of August 5 to 11, attendance (1,083,2454 admissions) remains down nearly 75% compared to the same period of 2019.

In this context, three outings go directly to the top of the ranking.

On the first step, the comedy "Les jokes de Toto", with 205,528 spectators.

The American disaster film "Greenland - The Last Refuge", the only big budget American film on screens, comes just behind with 193,402 spectators, followed by the animated film "Bigfoot Family" with 84,767 spectators.
