Chongqing's new technology can screen for cancer early in 15 minutes

News from our newspaper (Chongqing Morning News·Upstream news reporter Chen Zhu, correspondent Lan Tian) Recently, the quantum dot detection platform independently developed by Beibei District was put into use. This technology is still the first in China, and it was completed by the Southwestern University Ecosphere (Beibei Campus Cooperation Project). It only needs to draw a tube of blood to achieve early cancer screening. Taking the detection of Helicobacter pylori, an important indicator of gastric cancer, as an example, the results can be issued within 15 minutes.

Zhang Nianlin, technical leader of the quantum dot detection platform, introduced that quantum dots are semiconductor nanocrystalline materials, and the accuracy of detection can reach 98% or more with quantum dot technology.

It is understood that this technology has taken 8 years to tackle key problems, and it is currently possible to make early judgments on more than 10 types of cancers, including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and liver cancer. Hu Changhua, a professor at the School of Pharmacy of Southwest University, said that this platform has been developed for rapid diagnosis of tumors, heart diseases and other diseases. In the future, they will apply quantum dot detection technology to more diseases.
