President Moon Jae-in, who visited the flood damage site today (12th), instructed the special disaster zones to be subdivided into eup, myeon, and dong units rather than si/gun/gu. Prior to this, the government and ruling party decided to double some of the subsidies for flood disasters.

Reporter Park Ha-jeong reported this.

Following the Hwagae Marketplace in Hadong, Gyeongsangnam-do, President Moon Jae-in went to the Mayor of Gurye, Jeollanam-do, and Byeongcheoncheon Stream in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do.

[President Moon Jae-in: Even if you don't calculate the amount of damage, you can see that it meets the requirements of a special disaster zone just by looking at it with your own eyes. We will do our best to be assigned as soon as possible.]

While on the move to KTX, President Moon instructed that when selecting a special disaster area that can relieve the burden of local governments with government funding, "consider designating it in eup/myeon/dong units rather than city/gun units."

It is interpreted as a means of promptly responding customized to each region.

Some of the 11 areas for which the government has completed the first damage investigation is highly likely to be additionally designated as special disaster areas this week.

Prior to this, the party government decided to increase the disaster support fund.

The subsidies for victims of flood damage doubled from 10 million won to 20 million won, and home flooding has doubled from 1 million won to 2 million won.

However, the preparation of the 4th additional budget plan has been reserved.

[Kang Hoon-sik/Deocratic Democratic Party Chief Spokesperson: We understand that it will take about 500 billion won (to recover the damage). (For now) I think it will be possible with the budget so far, but I don't know what will happen in the future, so I'll judge them later... .] As

the reserves of the central and local governments are combined, there is about 5 trillion won left, so it can be covered without additional expenses.
