Two people died and a third was injured in traffic accidents that occurred this month in the Emirate of Dubai, as a result of various traffic errors, including: speeding, inattention, and bypassing the red traffic light.
A traffic source in Dubai Police stated that the first accident occurred at 12:30 after midnight on Tuesday, the fourth of August, as a result of a car colliding with a motorcycle at the intersection of Beirut and Baghdad streets in the Al Qusais area, which led to the death of the motorcycle driver.
He stressed that Dubai Police repeatedly warned of this violation, which often occurs for two reasons: either the driver’s lack of education, his lack of awareness of how to drive safely at the signal, which requires more attention, and the failure to rush when approaching it if it is green or yellow, and the second reason is recklessness and rush.
He pointed out the need to slow down when entering the signal, so that the driver can stop if the signal turns red, because drivers of other cars that move in their right lane after opening the signal in front of them from other parties do not expect this error, which doubles the losses of these accidents in particular. He added that the second accident occurred on Emirates Road, last Friday, as a result of the collision of two four-wheel drive vehicles, which led to the deterioration of one of them and the death of its driver.
The traffic source explained that, through the initial inspection of the accident, it became clear that the driver of one of the two vehicles had swept to the right, while the other vehicle was coming in the same lane, the drivers did not notice and the collision occurred, followed by the deterioration of the coming vehicle from behind and the death of its driver at the accident site immediately.
And he stressed the need to pay attention while overtaking to the right or left, especially on highways, because neglecting seconds from the road may cost a person his life, such as the deceased in this accident, pointing to the transfer of specialized traffic patrols to the site of the accident, securing traffic, and taking the necessary measures.
He stated that the last accident occurred last Saturday, when a motorcycle designated for delivery of orders collided with a sidewalk at the intersection of the financial center, which led to the deterioration of the bike and seriously injuring its driver, and he was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
