Ruler of Sharjah stresses the supervisory role of suburban councils and conveying the voice of citizens to officials
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, affirmed that the main role for which suburban and village councils were established is to convey the voice of citizens to officials, as well as monitor the municipality and other departments affecting the neighborhood, under an official capacity. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, said in an intervention by His Highness through the "Direct Line" program, that the suburbs and villages councils were established for something more important than gathering in them, which is conveying the voice of citizens to officials.
His Highness added that the suburb's cleaning and many other services fall under the responsibility of the municipality, and the services of electricity lines, lighting and water are also under the responsibility of a department, and the same is true for roads in the event of a road breakage or a tube burst, so the road department takes over, but when the citizen needs to make his voice heard Directly to an official, so what is the way to that ?, The Council, for the council is the place that transmits the citizen’s voice to officials, with all the needs and details that occur in the neighborhood, whether tangible or intangible needs.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah continued: The citizen has the right to have his voice heard when he needs it, for whatever matter whatsoever, for example if he sees a house in the center of the neighborhood in which workers and singles live for rent, or a house containing “khana” and obscenity, and he wants to file a complaint with officials. How much will this citizen shout to reach the responsible party, and how much will the "direct line" receive daily calls to convey the voices of citizens. Here comes the role of the suburbs and villages councils, as they are capable of conveying the citizen’s voice to officials.
