INTERVIEW

While the government's stimulus plan will be announced on August 24, many sectors are calling for help. This is particularly the case of the Building Federation, which pleads for a "substantial" relaunch of construction in order to save thousands of jobs. Emmanuelle Wargon, Minister Delegate to the Minister for the Ecological Transition, in charge of housing, calls on Europe 1 mayors to instruct building permits more quickly, to revive the market.

"It is really very important that the mayors who are newly elected or re-elected, give a boost to instruct building permits more quickly, especially where there is a need for housing," said the minister. "The building permits, the town planning authorizations were very few issued during the confinement period, it is normal everything worked in slow motion, but there is a delay in the building permits which will create an air hole in constructions next year ". A delay that risks creating a housing shortage as well as an increase in the prices of new homes.
