France 4, the public channel whose shutdown was postponed for a year, will put the package for its last season on educational programs, which made its success during confinement and to which it owes its reprieve.

During confinement, "a million children found themselves in front of France 4 every day," said France Télévisions Tuesday in a statement. "At the start of the school year, the chain therefore continues its transformation to offer, at all appropriate times of the day, fun learning times with priority given to children in elementary school".

The days are articulated between cartoons and series of Okoo in the morning and after school ("Martin Matin", "Oscar & Malika", "Titeuf", "The Minikeums", "Once upon a time in life "), and programs for parents when the children are in school. “La maison des maternelles” (at 9am) is enriched with a version for parents of teenagers, “La maison des parents” (2pm), still presented by Agathe Lecaron.

At 6:25 pm, Alex Goude presents the edutainment program on the set, "Le club Lumni", created in full confinement, with activities to help children learn and revise, with the participation of teachers, experts, and of children.

In the evening, films, documentaries and magazines are scheduled in connection with school programs. For its new start, France 4 offers Monday August 31 at 9 p.m. a special evening on school during a pandemic, with an immersive documentary in a CM2 class, followed by a debate.

The audiovisual reform provided for the shutdown of the TNT signal of France 4 and France Ô on August 9, to help France Televisions to save money and invest in digital.

But the Minister of Culture indicated in early August that the shutdown of France 4 on DTT channel 14 was postponed for a year, to ensure the "necessary transition" for the "rise" of the youth offer online from France Télévisions, ie the digital platforms Okoo (entertainment) and Lumni (education). However, France Ô will stop broadcasting on Sunday 23 August.
