Shakhtar Donetsk easily won on Tuesday in the quarter-finals of the Europa League by crushing FC Basel (4-1) in a unique match, behind closed doors, played in Gelsenkirchen, and will find Inter Milan in the semi-finals .

In a part dominated by the head and shoulders, the Ukrainians quickly took cover, with a goal in the second minute of play, while the Balois had not yet touched the ball.

On a corner from Marlos, the Ukrainian international of Brazilian origin Junior Moraes took advantage of a lax marking and a hazardous exit from the goalkeeper to score with a pricked header at six meters.

Shakhtar then continued to print his pace (more than 60% possession in the first period) and logically doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, following a counter led by Moraes.

The first scorer of the evening centered for Marlos, who offers himself his second assist of the match by handing over to Taison, whose instantaneous recovery from the left at the entrance to the area is slightly deflected by a Swiss defender in his own net ( 22nd).

The very uninspired Balois woke up at the hour mark to bring the game to the Ukrainian half of the field, without much success however.

Basel had not had time to hope that Shakhtar drove home the point after a penalty converted by Alan Patrick (75th). At the end of the match, right-back Dodo weighed down the score (88th), before the Swiss scored in the 90 + 2 on their first shot on target thanks to a flat foot from Dutch international Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

The Ukrainian club, winner of the event in 2009, will meet in the semi-finals in Düsseldorf on Monday August 17th, Inter Milan, which defeated Bayer Leverkusen (2-1) on Monday.
