Media reports said that the German star Mesut Ozil is close to leaving Arsenal after leaving the accounts of coach Michael Arteta, and for a new experience in the Turkish league.

The reports were based on a photo published by the Turkish media mogul Okun Ilikali on the Instagram website, which gathered Ozil and Okan Buruk, the coach of Basaksehir.

Basaksehir club was recently crowned the Turkish League, and the team, which was founded in 2014, is mainly sponsored by government-related companies, including the Medipol hospital chain.

Basaksehir is the favorite club of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was at the forefront of those present at Ozil's wedding last summer.

The Basaksehir club was not late in responding to these reports, and a spokesperson for the team told Deutsche Presse-Agentur, "These reports are incorrect, this is not the truth."

Ozil, 31, has contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2021, and reports in England have stated that the London club's management is seeking to reach an agreement with the player in order to terminate his contract in exchange for financial compensation.
