The Stade Français has decided, faced with a health situation within the club which has "deteriorated", to immediately stop all training and to place all players and sports personnel in isolation, announced the Top 14 club in a statement Monday evening.

The club does not specify the number of its members - players and management - infected, the daily L'Equipe evoking 25 positive cases of Covid-19.

"Following the Covid-19 tests carried out on Monday, August 10, it appears that the health situation of the Stade Français Paris has deteriorated despite compliance with the health measures in force and the instructions of the ARS" (Regional Health Agency), writes the club in its press release.

"In order to prevent any additional risk of contagion, in consultation with the authorities and the NRL, the decision to immediately stop all training has been taken," the text continues.

"All players and sports personnel are now placed in solitary confinement, at least until August 17, and remain under the club's medical supervision. New tests will be carried out on Monday August 17," he said.

Several Stade Français players had tested positive for Covid-19 upon their return from a training camp in Nice, the club said last Wednesday.
