The Government of National Accord forces reported that they had spotted a column of 70 armed vehicles and ammunition trucks of mercenaries from the Janjaweed supporting Khalifa Haftar's forces, passing through the oil crescent areas heading to the city of Sirte.

The National Oil Corporation warned of the explosion of the military situation in the oil ports and fields and the occurrence of a disaster, due to the presence of 25 tons of ammonium nitrate in the oil ports.

The head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, warned of the possibility of an explosion of 25 tons of ammonium nitrate in the ports of the Oil Crescent, and said that isolating this region from armed conflict will spare it destruction and will stop a disaster that will affect even the civilians living in its area.

Official government reports confirm that oil installations in eastern and southern Libya have turned into military barracks in which air defense systems have been installed, and the movements of mercenaries supporting Haftar have not stopped, with the continued arrival of modern weapons, which means that the option of a military confrontation still exists.

The Government of National Accord announced earlier that a political solution is still on the table, in parallel with the readiness to implement the military option.

"We want peaceful political solutions, and we are capable of a military settlement," said the head of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, revealing that all movements of Haftar's forces and those who support him are "monitored."

Democratic stage

In a parallel context, Fathi Bashagha, Minister of Interior of the Libyan Government of National Accord, affirmed that the country is on the verge of a democratic stage that requires decisive action.

During his meeting in Tripoli with security leaders from the Ministry of Interior and its security agencies, Bashagha said that he would issue decisions to stop all financial and administrative procedures for any security directorate or security services, which he described as not obeying the orders of the Ministry of Interior.

Bashagha said that Libya is entering a democratic phase, which requires all security and military agencies to perform their duties firmly and decisively.

In the same context, Aqila Saleh, the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives meeting in Tobruk, and the US ambassador to Libya Richard Norland agreed that Sirte and Jufra would be demilitarized zones until the political dialogue resumed.

The Libyan News Agency affiliated with the parallel government in eastern Libya stated that Saleh and Norland agreed in a meeting between them in the Egyptian capital Cairo to continue the ceasefire and return to the dialogue table to end the Libyan crisis.
