Lebanon: Protesters storm the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and use it as headquarters for the "revolution"

Witnesses said that dozens of protesters stormed the Lebanese Foreign Ministry building, chanting slogans against the Lebanese government and the political establishment. The protesters also burned a picture of Lebanese President Michel Aoun.

A spokesman for the protesters, retired Brigadier General Sami Ramah, told reporters in a statement that he read: "From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which we have taken as the headquarters of the revolution, we call on the oppressed Lebanese people to go to the squares and demand the trial of all the corrupt."

Gunfire was heard at the demonstrations site, and the police confirmed to "Reuters" that bullets had been fired.

Live footage on local television channels showed several people, their bodies stained with blood due to rubber bullets, while police fired tear gas to disperse protesters trying to storm Parliament Square.
