The investigation is underway in Beirut, after the two violent explosions that left a city in ruins and killed at least 137 people on Tuesday. While rescuers are looking for survivors in the rubble, President Michel Aoun spoke on Friday.

"It is possible that it was caused by negligence or by an external action, with a missile or a bomb", declared the head of the State, leaving the doubt on the causes of the tragedy.

Asked by journalists about the political consequences of the disaster, he also deemed it necessary to review a “paralyzed” political system.
