The State of Qatar has granted Lebanese citizens who hold Qatari residency who are currently in their country and who wish to return to the country a priority in the exceptional entry approval, according to the current procedures of the travel and return policy to the State of Qatar within the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic.

According to the statement issued by the government communication office, the directives of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also allowed Lebanese citizens who hold Qatari residence to bring in their first-degree relatives, by submitting an application through the Qatar embassy in Beirut or using Matrash 2 application for government and administrative transactions in Qatar.

Also, according to the statement, those arriving in Qatar will be subjected to an examination of the emerging corona virus upon their arrival at Hamad International Airport, while adhering to the quarantine measures announced earlier.

After the Beirut bombing, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, telephoned Lebanese President Michel Aoun and directed to send field hospitals to Lebanon immediately.

A number of charitable societies in Qatar also launched a relief campaign entitled "Lebanon in our hearts", in solidarity with the victims of the Beirut explosion.

The campaign aims to collect what the Qatari community provides to the Lebanese and turn it into relief materials covering the areas of health, shelter, food security and other non-food items, and reconstruction.
