"The Ministry of Justice of Russia received an official notification from the European Court of Human Rights dated 15.07.2020 about the filing of an interstate complaint by the Kingdom of the Netherlands against Russia in connection with the crash of flight MH17," the department said.
It is noted that the judicial composition and procedure for considering a complaint to the ECHR have not yet been determined, and any procedural deadlines have not been established for the Russian side.
Earlier, the ECHR registered the Dutch lawsuit against Russia in the MH17 case.
The Russian Ministry of Justice said that Moscow rejected accusations of involvement in the downing of MH17.
Boeing 777, flying MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014 in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. 283 passengers and 15 crew members were killed.
