He said that despite the impact of the new crown epidemic, Russian military-industrial enterprises and related institutions have completed the defense order tasks in the first half of this year as scheduled, and delivered more than 1,100 pieces of important equipment to the Russian military, including 16 various fixed-wing aircraft, 53 helicopters, 80 drones and 5 ships. In addition, the military has received a number of aviation weapons, military vehicles, engineering equipment, and communication equipment as planned.
Shoigu said that at the "Army-2020" International Military Technology Forum to be held in August, the latest Russian military products will be displayed.
Russian Deputy Defense Minister Krivoruchko stated at the report meeting that in the first half of this year, the Russian military’s modernized weaponry rate was 68.5%.
In recent years, Russia has made significant progress in military development and the deployment of new weapons and equipment. Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the National Defense Industry Development Conference held in May last year that the rate of modern weapons and equipment of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces has reached 82%, the air and space forces have reached 74%, and the airborne troops and navy have exceeded 60%.
