After SVT Nyheter Småland's review, the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (IVO) started an investigation and requested LSS decisions and invoices regarding Fridafors Fritidscenter from several municipalities that sent children to the camp.

When everything had been collected and compiled, those in charge at Fridafors leisure center got to take part in it.

- According to the Public Administration Act, all material that forms the basis for our upcoming decision must be communicated so that those we investigate will have the opportunity to comment, says Lennart Wennberg, inspector at IVO.

Summer camp only

In his answer, one of the representatives of the leisure center writes that an application to run a summer camp was sent to the County Administrative Board in Kronoberg in 2009. Then they received the answer that they did not need a permit because the camp was only held for short periods in the summer.

In 2012, they applied to the National Board of Health and Welfare to be allowed to camp in the spring and autumn as well, as many wanted. It was rejected because it was then counted as a continuous activity. Then the leisure center went back to having only camps in the summer.

If anyone has heard from them who wants to see a permit, they have sent over the county administrative board's decision.

The municipality and parents have been welcome

Fridafors leisure center also writes that they have always had small camps with a maximum of 12 participants and that the young people who needed help with hygiene, food or other care have had an assistant or companion with them.

They also emphasize that municipalities and parents have always been allowed to come and watch when they have had their camps and that they have always received a lot of praise, both from parents and young people.

Considering police report

- Now we look at the answer and then we write a decision. It will take a couple of weeks before the decision comes, says Lennart Wennberg.

Only then will IVO take a position on whether there will be a police report.

- We always consider a police report when LSS operations are conducted without a permit.
