The government has signed an EPA=Economic Partnership Agreement with the EU=European Union, but following the UK's departure from the EU in January, a bilateral economic partnership agreement was signed with the British Government. We are proceeding with negotiations towards.

To conclude the negotiations, Foreign Minister Mogi will visit London, England from the 5th and will hold ministerial talks with the International Trade Minister of Truss for two days.

In this, it is expected that close discussions will be held on issues such as the timing of tariff elimination on automobiles, which have the highest amount of exports from Japan, and whether to establish import quotas for some British agricultural products.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, Japanese ministers will visit foreign countries for the first time in almost half a year since Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Aso visited Saudi Arabia in late February.
