The number of Coronavirus infections in Latin America has exceeded 5 million as the epidemic continues to grow rapidly in several countries in the region, and infections are increasing alarmingly in European countries, while the World Health Organization has expressed pessimistic expectations.

In Latin America, the level of infection reached this level after Colombia announced the registration of 10 thousand new cases, while the deaths in this region, which has become the largest epidemic in the world, exceeded 200 thousand deaths.

Brazil alone recorded two million 750 thousand injuries and more than 94 thousand deaths, while the second most affected country in the region is Peru, which has so far recorded 429 thousand cases of corona and more than 19 thousand deaths.

For its part, Mexico announced early today, Tuesday, 4,700 new cases of the Corona virus, bringing the total to 444 thousand, while the deaths exceeded 48 thousand.

In recent days, Mexico recorded record numbers of infected people, as it monitored nearly 9,000 cases a day for the first time last Saturday, a day after Britain removed it from third in the list of the world's top countries in terms of death rate due to disease.

As for Brazil, which is ranked second in the world in terms of infections after the United States, it seemed that the outbreak of the Corona virus has decreased, as it recorded in the past 24 hours only 16 thousand cases, the lowest rate of increase in cases since last June.

In the northern part of the continent of America, the United States recorded in the past 24 hours 46 thousand injuries, bringing the total to 4 million and 711 thousand, in addition to 532 deaths, to exceed the total of 155 thousand.

Despite the recorded decline for the fifth day in the number of infections in the United States, the White House advisor for anti-virus, Corona Deborah Birks, had warned that the country was entering a new stage of the outbreak of infection.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump criticized Chancellor Deborah's statements and said that the epidemic is receding in the south and west of the United States.

Disturbing numbers
In Europe, the increasing number of Coronavirus infections is causing concern in countries such as France, Britain, Germany and Spain, and this has led to the re-imposition of restrictions on some areas where the disease is spreading.

France announced yesterday that it recorded more than 3,300 good infections with the virus during the past three days, for a total of more than 191,000, including more than 30,000 deaths, and said that the number of people being treated in high-quality care units has risen again.

For the fifth consecutive day, France's average casualties remained above a thousand, the highest rate since the two-month general isolation.

In Britain, which witnessed in the past few days the imposition of isolation again in parts of northern England, yesterday recorded 938 new cases of Coronavirus, the second highest number of daily infections since June, to exceed the total infections 305 thousand cases.

For its part, Germany announced earlier today 879 new infections, to exceed the total of 211 thousand, in addition to 8 deaths, bringing the total to 9,165 deaths.

Spain recently re-imposed isolation on Barcelona and other regions in the north of the country after discovering several corona foci.

As for the Arabs, Iraq and Saudi Arabia are still leading with a large difference in terms of numbers of infections and deaths caused by the Corona virus.

In neighboring Iran, there were 215 new deaths recorded, amid an outbreak of corona at a high rate, with one death every 7 minutes, according to Iranian television.

In other regions of the world, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Ministers of two major states have entered the hospital for treatment of the emerging coronavirus, with the number of infections in India exceeding 50,000 for the fifth consecutive day.

The disease also affected 3 ministers in the Gambia, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo was also exposed to the infection of the Coruna virus.

Pessimistic expectations
While the number of people infected with the virus around the world this morning exceeded 18 million and 443 thousand, and the number of deaths approached 700 thousand deaths, the World Health Organization warned that there might be no "magic solution" at all for the emerging corona, despite international efforts to develop an effective vaccine against it.

"There is no magic bullet now, and it may never exist," Tidros Adhanum Gebriusios, director of the organization, told a news conference on Monday from Geneva.

He added that clinical trials give hope, but that does not necessarily mean producing an effective vaccine, especially with the passage of time.

He stressed, however, that the virus can be controlled, especially through restrictions, "good practices" and "political commitment".

He said countries with increasing rates of infection, such as Brazil and India, need to prepare for a major battle, adding that "the way out is long and requires sustained commitment."

The WHO had warned earlier that the next was worse.
