Coronavirus infection in India is accelerating since it ranks third in the global number of infections, amid warnings from the World Health Organization that there may not be a "magic solution" to eliminate the virus.

The Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah, and the two Chiefs of State of two major states have been hospitalized for the treatment of the emerging coronavirus, with the number of infections in India exceeding 50,000 for the fifth consecutive day.

Despite the scale of the casualties, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to attend the laying of the foundation stone for a Hindu temple on Wednesday, over the ruins of the Babri Mosque, which was demolished by Hindu extremists 30 years ago. .

3 ministers in the Gambia

In West Africa, the presidency in the Gambia said that 3 ministers had been diagnosed with Covid-19 disease, in a new indication that the emerging coronavirus is spreading among senior officials, after the vice president was diagnosed with the disease last week.

The presidency reported last week that President Adama Barrow had been subjected to self-isolation for two weeks, after his deputy, Isato Torai, had been diagnosed with the disease.

In a statement released late on Sunday evening, the presidency said that Finance Minister Mamburi Nage, Energy Minister Fafa Sanyang and Agriculture Minister Amy Vibro were also infected with the virus.

The Gambia has so far recorded 498 cases of the disease and only 9 deaths, one of the lowest numbers recorded in the West African region.

Pathetic statements

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump on Monday criticized the White House advisor about the emerging corona virus, Deborah Perks, after she warned of a new stage related to the epidemic, saying her statements were "pathetic."

Trump, angered by what he sees as excessive pessimistic media coverage, in response to the epidemic, said that Berks bowed to pressure to take a negative stance.

"Deborah fell in the company and beat us. Something pathetic," he wrote on Twitter.

"We are in a new phase ... What we are seeing today is different from March and April," she said, adding that Sunday's infection is spreading from March and April, adding that the infection "is spreading." Unusually "in rural areas and also in urban areas".

She added that she has gone to 14 states in the past three weeks as part of her work, and has seen how Americans continue to travel across the country, warning of the implications for continuing to spread the virus.

The virus may never be resolved

While the number of people infected with the virus exceeds more than 18 million confirmed cases, the World Health Organization warned Monday that there may be no "magic solution" at all for the newly created Corona, despite international efforts to develop an effective vaccine against it.

"There is no magic solution now, and it may never exist," said Tidros Adhanum Gebresius, director of the organization, in a press conference held online from Geneva.

"Clinical trials give us hope. This does not necessarily mean that we will have an effective" vaccine, especially with the passage of time, but he nonetheless stressed that the virus can be controlled, especially through restrictions, "good practices" and "political commitment."

Ryan said countries with high rates of infection, such as Brazil and India, needed to prepare for a major battle, adding, "The exit path is long and requires sustained commitment."
