As noted, the amount of the fine amounted to 213 million zlotys ($ 57 million).

We are talking about the proceedings, which concerns the creation of a consortium to finance the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline "without the necessary consent of the President of UOKIK."

“In the course of this trial, the chairman of UOKiK also applied to Gazprom for documents related to the case, but the company refused to provide information important to the ongoing investigation,” the regulator's website said.

It is noted that the requested documents related mainly to agreements on the transfer, distribution, sale, supply and storage of gaseous fuels.

In early June, the Polish Committee for Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) opened a case against Gazprom for lack of cooperation in the course of an antitrust investigation.

In 2018, UOKiK filed charges against six companies for financing construction without the required legal permission, including Gazprom.

In early 2020, the Polish antimonopoly regulator asked the Russian company to provide documents related to the case. It is noted that such documents were not provided.
