A wildfire broke out in southern California, causing more than 1,000 people to evacuate.

A forest fire in Riverside County, California, USA burned 16 km of forest and lost one home, NBC reported.

Local police issued a forced evacuation order to about 1,000 residents near the fire site.

The California Fire Department has put in more than 200 firefighters and mobilized helicopters to fight the fire.

Riverside County hit by wildfires today had a peak temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.

The Riverside County Fire Department said, "I expect to build some control lines to prevent the spread of forest fires by tomorrow morning."
