Brazilian defender David Luiz received a court ruling in his favor in a lawsuit he filed against a company that took advantage of his image crying after the 1-7 loss by Germany in the FIFA World Cup semi-finals that Brazil hosted in 2014.

The French website RMC stated that the current player of Arsenal received compensation of 30,000 Brazilian riyals (about 5,000 euros) after a court decision accused the company of misusing the player's image and causing moral damage to him.

Luiz has faced criticism from the Brazilian press, and he is considered one of the most prominent accused of causing the historic loss that prevented the team from competing for the World Cup title at home and among its fans.

Pictures of Louise were crying after the end of the match, one of the highlights of that historic evening. After the match, the fans asked for forgiveness and said, "I dreamed of giving happiness to my people."

The event took advantage of a local real estate company, and launched a promotional campaign that includes Louise's picture accompanied by the phrase "When you assign hobbyists to work on realizing your family's dreams, the result will be like 1-7".

The court convicted the company on Friday, and forced it to pay compensation to the Brazilian defender, who achieved an important moral victory.
