The World Health Organization has warned that the consequences of the Corona virus will extend for decades, while the epidemic continues at high rates in several countries, including Iraq, which has recorded a daily heavy toll, and a US senator has warned that deaths in his country may double.

WHO Director Tidros Adhanom Gebresus said today, Friday, that the spread of the Coruna virus worldwide is a disaster that will have a long impact in the future.

"The Corona pandemic is a health crisis that occurs once a century, and its consequences will remain visible for decades to come," Gibersos added, during a meeting of the WHO's emergency committee.

And Gabrios said yesterday that the resurgence of the epidemic in some countries is partly due to the disregard of the measures by young people during the summer in the northern hemisphere.

In the past few weeks, the World Health Organization seemed pessimistic about the possibility of controlling the epidemic, and its Director General even warned that the worst had not yet come, and the organization warned that injuries would increase if countries rushed to lift restrictions and did not take appropriate policies, which include detection and tracking Virus, isolation and quarantine.

Today, the number of people infected with the Coronavirus around the world exceeds 17.5 million, and the dead have reached 678,000, while the number of people recovered exceeded 11 million.

Heavy toll
The virus continues to spread at a high rate in regions of Asia, the Americas and Africa, where a daily count of between several thousand and tens of thousands is recorded.

In Iraq, which along with Saudi Arabia is the worst affected in the Arab world, the authorities today counted 70 deaths and more than 3300 infections, the highest daily toll since the virus appeared in the country in mid-February.

In Saudi Arabia, today 24 deaths and about 1,700 new infections are announced, as no pilgrims are infected with HIV.

The death toll was also high in Sudan by 21 deaths, and deaths were recorded in the Emirates, Kuwait, Palestine and Qatar.

In other regions of the world, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today that the next phase of easing restrictions on public isolation will be postponed for at least two weeks, after it was scheduled tomorrow, with some of these restrictions being tightened in northern England due to the appearance of foci of Corona virus in them.

This development comes at a time when some European countries, including Spain, are returning partially to restrictions on some economic and social systems, with the emergence of hotbeds of the Corona virus, similar to what happened in the Catalonia region (northern Spain).

In India, more than 55,000 new infections were recorded today, raising the total over 1.6 million, yet the government decided to lift the night curfew that had been imposed since last March.

In Asia, too, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has expressed concern about the high daily toll of injuries, including in the capital, Tokyo.

South Africa also recorded 11,000 new infections, bringing the total to 482,000.

The toll is doubling
In the United States, which has been experiencing daily casualties ranging from 50,000 to 70,000 for a while, Democratic Senator James Clayborn warned that another 150,000 Americans could die from the Coronavirus if changes did not occur immediately.

Clayborne urged President Donald Trump to present an effective plan to combat the Corona epidemic.

Anthony Fawcci, director of the Institute of Infectious Diseases in the United States, said 250,000 people have signed up to participate in experiments with possible vaccines against Corona.

Meanwhile, an agreement was announced today between Sanofi, GSK and the United States, which would receive 100 million doses, and the contract was valued at $ 2.1 billion.

Japan also reached an agreement with the German-American group, "Piontech-Pfizer" to obtain 120 million doses of the vaccine the group is working on.
