The incident occurred in mid-June this year. The now convicted man first broke into the Social Administration in Härnösand municipality, where he stole seven computers, seven mobile phones and most of the car keys.

After the burglary, he stole a car from the municipality and drove through central Härnösand at high speed, despite the fact that he was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs and lacked a driver's license.

Drove a dog to death

The madness journey ended with the man losing control of the vehicle in a turn and driving up on a sidewalk, where he drove over a man and a dog. The person suffered a fracture in the foot, and the dog died from his injuries.

The man escaped from the accident site but was later arrested by police. Police found parts of the stolen goods in a bush nearby.

Formerly known to police

The man, who is in his 20s, already appears in the police's criminal record.

He is now sentenced to eight months in prison for aggravated bodily injury, aggravated drunk driving, five counts of threatening an official, two counts of theft, two counts of aggravated unlawful driving and possession of means of subsistence and contagion from a traffic accident site.

The man denies all the acts, but admits, among other things, that he stole the car.
