On July 27, the throat control project of the entire Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan high-speed rail line, the 18.226-kilometer-long Dongming Tunnel, was completed, laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan high-speed rail to traffic in 2021.

  The 271-kilometer Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan high-speed railway connects Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Taizhou with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is one of the country’s first demonstration projects of social capital investment in railway construction. The total project investment is about 44.9 billion yuan, and 70 bridges have been erected across the line. There are 56 tunnels. Among them, the 18.226-kilometer Dongming Tunnel, the longest tunnel on the entire line, is the throat restricting the construction period of the entire line, and it is also the longest high-speed rail tunnel in East China.

  As a key project of the "one-hour" transportation circle in Zhejiang Province, the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan high-speed railway will be connected to Nanjing-Hangzhou high-speed railway, Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed railway, and Shanghai-Hangzhou intercity railway. Traffic line.
