Citizens and residents told Emirates Today that they could not obtain an appointment for a DPI laser examination to detect suspected cases of the "Covid-19" virus (rapid corona scan), 15 days ago.

They called for the speedy opening of new centers, to relieve pressure on the only testing center that applies this technology, which is located in the Sih Shuaib area (Ghantoot tent) towards Abu Dhabi.

They suggested opening centers in all emirates of the country, and not limiting them to crossing points into the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

And Tamouh Healthcare revealed that the absorption capacity of the only center currently established has increased to reach 10 thousand exams per day, based on the laser technology "dpi", in addition to 500 PCR exams, through the nasal swab, referring to work, currently , To create survey tents elsewhere, but it has not yet done so.

And «Emirates Today» conducted the experience of booking an appointment, through the mechanism applied by the provider company to provide the survey based on dates, and it was not possible to obtain an appointment before August 11.

The center's staff confirmed that there is a large demand for laser technology examination, since the service was launched, noting that the appointments are complete, for a period of not less than 10 days, since the application of the pre-reservation mechanism began. They attributed this to the ease of the examination procedures, the financial cost of the examination, which amounts to 50 dirhams, in addition to the speedy obtaining of the result, as it does not take a person to register through an ID reader, and taking blood from the finger in the same way to check blood sugar, more than three minutes.

Citizens and residents called for the expansion of the establishment of laser testing centers with "DPI" technology, in all emirates of the country, to facilitate the examination for those wishing to come to Abu Dhabi, so that it examines within his emirate to determine whether he will be allowed to enter Abu Dhabi or not, with the requirement for validity to use The result of the examination only on the same day, or in a specified number of hours since the result was released.

They pointed out that the website, which is related to booking a prior appointment to conduct a DPI laser examination in the Ghantoot area tent, has witnessed a great turnout since its launch, last week, and dates have been booked in advance for more than two weeks, pointing out that the expansion of the establishment of rapid examination tents , It will contribute to reducing pre-bookings, and to detecting people with the virus who have no symptoms. It will also shorten the time, and prevent people with "Corona" from moving great distances, and prevent them from friction with more people, in addition to overcoming the problem of crowding and the absence of reservation dates for the examination in the Ghantoot tent.

On the other hand, Tamouh Healthcare Company (responsible for conducting the checks) stated that the pre-booking service for the examination aims to organize the work and avoid crowding, especially as it is currently working on new inspection centers that follow the technology «dpi» at the checkpoints, to overcome On the challenges of time and space, applying all preventive measures and measures, and maintaining physical distance.

The company’s project manager, Abdullah Al-Rashdi, confirmed the opening of the new tent in Ghantoot, to increase the capacity of the tests, from 2000 to 10,000 tests per day, in addition to 500 PCR tests, indicating that the tent works 24 hours a day, and includes 260 waiting points (between one point and another is sufficient spacing, according to the conditions of the Abu Dhabi Health Department). It also has 250 employees, and 12 tracks (of which two are for families only). Priority is given to the examination for the elderly. Al-Rashdi added: “Our main goal is to facilitate the examination process. We have succeeded in summarizing all the steps in one place, as the electronic ID is used to record, conduct the examination and receive the result in one place, "stressing that the Ghantoot tent, currently, is the only tent that provides laser inspection services with" DPI "technology, and it is expected That there be more than one site to provide this examination, during the coming period, and it will be announced as soon as it opens.

Al Rashedi stressed that the company is working hard to provide the appropriate absorptive capacity to meet the demand of the public, advising those wishing to enter the emirate not to go to any inactive or under construction center, in order to ensure their safety, referring to the announcement, officially, through the platforms of the media office of the Abu Dhabi government For any new position before activating it. He also stressed taking all precautions to ensure safety for all, calling on those wishing to enter the emirate to plan and perform the tests in advance, to avoid any possible crowds or delays.

And he added that entering the emirate is not limited to conducting the examination in the «DPI» center, but it allows the one who carries a negative result for the usual “Covid-19” examination, within 48 hours of receiving the result, to enter the emirate.

Inspection mechanism

The "laser-based" DPI technology depends on examining blood samples and reading the shape of the cells in them, within seconds, to determine the presence of infections such as those caused by the "Covid-19" virus.

The diagnostic system in the innovative device in the UAE also adopts advanced artificial intelligence technology in image analysis, according to a very accurate scale.

The technology «dpi» is characterized by the ease of examination procedures, obtaining the result, and cheap financial costs, as it does not take more than three minutes, during which the person is registered through an identity reader, and blood is taken through a small scratch with a medical scalpel in the finger, by way of checking blood sugar , And put it under the device, where the blood cells trapped between two strips covered with the laser beam illuminate, so that through the technique of «DPI» to determine whether the blood cells are infected with the virus or not, what encouraged many to register for an appointment, especially since the examination fee is 50 dirhams Just.
