July 23, 2020 More than 60,000 coronavirus cases - for the ninth consecutive day. have been recorded in the past 24 hours in the United States according to data released by Johns Hopkins University. There were 1,059 deaths. More than 1 million Americans recovered. 

California surpassed New York State, the first epicenter of the pandemic in the United States, by the number of Covid-19 confirmed cases: in total there are over 417 thousand in California, according to the New York Times count, compared to over 413 thousand from New York. The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, has warned that with the increase in swabs it is expected to find even more infected.

However, New York remains the American state most affected in terms of deaths: 32,228 so far, more than all the three states that follow it in the sad ranking (New Jersey, Massachusetts and California) have registered together. 

Trump: "Governors have a mask obligation decision" 
After Indiana and Minnesota (now also in Washington) imposed a mask obligation, President Trump explained that the decision is up to the Governors of individual American states. Then he added: "I would like to see schools open, 100% open" stressing that children "do not transmit the virus very easily, do not catch it easily and do not take it home easily. I am not worried about the return to school of my son and my grandchildren "this autumn. Finally a wish: "We hope to get to the end of the tunnel quickly. "I would vaccinate if it were available"
President Donald Trump also said he would have the coronavirus vaccine if it were available in an interview with Fox, who is pressing on his traditional skepticism towards of vaccines. Then he joked that he would still be criticized both if he did it first, because he would be accused of selfishness, and if he did it last, because he would be accused of not believing in the antidote. "In any case, I would lose," the tycoon ironized.
