July 21, 2020 If there is no extension of the tax deadlines to September 30 `` we are ready to take strong actions, such as not to send tax data ''. '' In the absence of government communications on September 16 '' the declarations are not sent ''. The trade union associations of accountants announce it during a press conference. The extension of the obligations "is not a whim of ours or of the companies, it is a necessity: we are exhausted by the obligations", explained the accountants, announcing the collective abstention. There are around 260 from 16 to 30 July, the professionals point out. Considering that the country is going through a '' moment in which the economy is at an extreme '' the postponement to September 30 that "we asked for seemed like a due act".

Especially considering the workload to which the studies were subjected in this period: '' They have been overwhelmed by many fulfilments '', foreseen by the Covid decrees, such as Cig, bonuses, tax credits, rents and sanitisations. "" All overtime work that has been created at a particular time "" also for accountants, who have had to face "" big difficulties "related to remote working methods. "But every time we offer something as a category, often and willingly in favor of citizens, there seems to be a systematic desire to disregard our requests". "Besides not being listened to, we are often discriminated against". We believe there must be a change of course, '' unions stress. As part of the tax reform they ask to "be an active part, as specialized professionals in the sector, with our proposals and sitting at the tables".

Lapecorella: with prolonged difficult reliable estimates of room for maneuver
"What happens by postponing a significant and significant part of the self-liquidated taxes to September 30th is that we are no longer able at a technical level to formulate reliable forecasts, or rather to arrive at making projections of the revenue from self-liquidated taxes which allow to determine the expected level of revenue for the end of the year "with the" implication "that" the space for the financial maneuver cannot be reliably determined ". So the director of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Economy, Fabrizia Lapecorella, answering a question during a hearing in the Chamber's Finance Committee.

"So - he added - from a technical point of view in this specific year 2020 despite the crisis, even more so in the presence of the crisis connected to the health emergency, if the Government has declared that it is determined to intervene with the financial maneuver to simplify the tax system, the structure of the withdrawal, and to reduce the tax burden on companies in a substantial and significant way, in order to do this, it must have the most exact knowledge of the available financial space. Therefore it is extremely important that these payments are made in time which have been granted, "he added, recalling that this deadline goes" until August 20 with the very small increase of 0.40 percent ".

De Bertoldi: no deadline extension damages small and medium-sized enterprises
"The straw that broke the camel's back was the failure to extend tax deadlines". So the senator Fdi, Andrea de Bertoldi, coordinator of the Consultant Parliamentary Accountants, speaking in a conference in the Senate organized by the National Accountants Association. "We asked, interpreting the difficulties of the SMEs, an extension - he says - instead we were told a joyful 'no', it seemed that saying 'no' to the professionals was something beautiful. We do not realize that this is what we are doing bad for Italian companies ", concludes de Bertoldi.

Currò: "Protecting taxpayers"
"It is a difficult time for businesses and professionals. Minister Gualtieri's decision not to extend the tax deadlines set for July 20 is a blow to the many professionals who yesterday had to pay the 2019 balance and the advances 2020 of Irpef and Ires ". These are the statements made by M5s MEP Giovanni Currò, member of the Chamber Finance Commission. "I want to express my closeness and support to accountants, a fundamental category in our country, which deserves the right acknowledgments for having rendered an essential service for the state. Yesterday and these days I have heard many accountants and professionals from other categories, who rightly they reported their concerns, especially regarding the sharp drop in liquidity they had to face. A drop in liquidity which is also testified by the low percentage of VAT numbers that decided to pay what they owed anyway ".

The deputy continues: "We must not hide: I spoke with studies to the limit of the forces experiencing a very strong frustration for the type of treatment they are receiving from the State. This is why it is vitally important that Minister Gualtieri, taking note of the balances and payments yesterday, provide at least a system of elimination of interest or greater delay. It is not impossible, it can be done in the new decree that will follow the further budgetary deviation. This we owe to the many professionals and taxpayers, at least to protect them and grant them a breather before the latest deadlines of 20/08 ", he concludes.

Forza Italia: government provides regulation to avoid sanctions
"July 20 has passed and almost 5 million Italians have found themselves having to pay 8.4 billion in taxes. There has been no postponement by the Government and despite the innumerable requests made by Forza Italia, by the accountants and by the freelancers, the Conte government has continued on this line without posing the problem of a lack of liquidity for many categories affected by the harmful effects of the long lockdown. businesses and workers who have just restarted with their activities, burdened by all the difficulties that those who are currently in government should at least demonstrate that they know ". MEPs Claudia Porchietto, head of the Production Activities Department and Carlo Giacometto, head of Piedmont Budget and Finance, of Forza Italia write in a note.

"Now all that remains is to run for cover to try to resolve a situation that, without the postponement that we would have wished for, risks leaving millions of taxpayers with water in their throats. As already in Forza Italia in recent days - they continue - the only one solution would, at this point, insert a rule in the Simplification decree, which establishes that no penalty will be applied to payments made after yesterday's deadline and, in any case, by September 30th. come from some members of the parliamentary majority to quickly follow the facts. The tool is there, just activate it ".
